 Who We Are

Point Venture is a Village in western Travis County, Texas located on the north shore of Lake Travis. The population was 800 as of the 2010 census. Point Venture was a second home and family vacation destination since the early 1970s. It has matured to half of the 1,200 properties being full time residents with over 140 children attending Lago Vista School District. Amenities include:

  • Private Jr. Olympic swimming pool

  • Tennis & Pickleball courts
  •  Private marina
  • Private Park and boat ramp

  • Floating restaurant leased to a private corporation
  • In-house security

The General Manager is responsible for the consistent and timely management of the properties, amenities, and resources of the PVPOA, in accordance with the policies and directives established by the Board of Directors.  The GM works with all members of the Board, but reports directly to the President of the Board of Directors.  Responsibilities and qualifications include but are not limited to:

 General Management:

  1. Possess Excellent people skills and a good communicator.
  2. Strategic problem solving skills.
  3. Ability to follow through on tasks and meet
  4. Willing to participate in and organize PV
  5. Oversee security on PVPOA property (POA staff courtesy guards and weekend security).
  6. Maintain friendly and helpful attitude toward all POA members, suppliers, contractors, and
  7. Interact on behalf of PVPOA with all municipalities, Village Council, WCID, Townhouse Association, LCRA, TCSO, and ESD
  8. Interact with membership, resolves grievances, and provides knowledge of all governing documents, rules, and policies.

 Personnel Management:

  1. Oversee hiring and dismissal of PVPOA staff.
  2. Annual performance reviews for Director of Golf, Manager of Member Services, Courtesy Guard  Supervisor, and Maintenance
  3. Schedule and approve vacation and overtime for POA class
  4. Sets salaries and pay raises for personnel Board of Directors are responsible for GM's salary rate/  raises.
  5. Supervise and schedule office and operation staff priorities and
  6. Provide oversight on all HR Updates all policies, procedures, and employee handbook.

 Financial Management:

  1. Ability to develop and follow a $2M annual
  2. Ability to develop and follow an annual Capital Expenditure budget and develop/maintain Capital Expenditure Project
  3. Approve all vendors invoices, assure all bills are paid on time, sign AP checks, and review biweekly
  4. Approve the production of all financial reports required by the PVPOA Board including but not limited to: budget performance report, P & L statements, Balance Sheet, and Accounts Receivable
  5. Assure timely collection of all monies owed to
  6. Generate and obtain Board approval for all Capital Expenditures.
  7. Negotiate all contractor agreements, per Board directives.
  8. Purchase and/or approve all equipment and supplies needed to maintain and improve all POA
  9. Act on behalf of the PVPOA as Landlord, assuring marina restaurant Lessee compliance and all other EBR's.
  10. Responsible for the management of all PVPOA investments, bank accounts, bank transfers and financial
  11. Prepares for annual audit and works directly with

 Administrative Duties:

  1. Annual procurement of insurance (Property, Workers Comp, Liability, D&O). Provide annual audit of all real property, equipment, and assessed market values.
  2. Enforcement of the PVPOA Deed Restrictions, strictly follow legal procedures and required
  3. Work with the Village of Point Venture regarding member complaints to reduce            
  4. Implement and enforce PVPOA Rules and Regulations per Board
  5. Assist with PVPOA Annual Board of Directors Election. Responsible for all aspects of Annual Meeting and election process.
  6. Provide training, guidance, and materials to new Board of
  7. Provide PVPOA Board Meeting agenda, minutes, financials and supporting documentation via Board packet for all Board
  8. Attend PVPOA Board workshops and provide supporting documentation for proposed agendas.
  9. Provide Board of Directors with Texas HOA Legislative Law Updates and implement new laws as
  10. Create quarterly newsletter following each Board of Directors meeting and mass email to
  11. Regularly report to the Board of Directors priorities, and progress via monthly Manager's Status

 Property and Facility Management:

  1. Make recommendations to Board of Directors regarding the management of properties and resources of the Recommend new projects to the Board of Directors as needed.
  2. Assure all PVPOA buildings, land and equipment are properly
  3. Supervise all projects within budget on a timely Verify and justify expenditures.
  4. Work closely with all Committee/Task Force Chairs to assure that they have the support needed.
  5. Obtain bids as needed for contracted Qualify and quantify bids before presenting to Board of Directors.
  6. Interact on behalf of PVPOA with LCRA regarding the Highland Lakes Marina Ordinance compliance.
  7. Marina management and
  8. Oversight of Golf course management and compliance.

    1. Commence at $85,000 but dependent on experience and Certifications. CAI certification preferred.
      1. Simple IRA 3% match
      2. 90% of Health Insurance paid by employer

  1. Required Work Week:
  2. Monday through Friday with some weekends and on call
  3. Remote Work: 1-2 days a week with approval
  4. Probationary Period: 3 months with Board option to extend to 6 months.
